YOUR SINS HAVE ALREADY BEEN FORGIVEN

KAINOS-LIFE-CHURCH,-IKERRE-EKITI

As shocking as this may sound, it is perhaps the most important statement you might ever hear so you would need to patiently read through this write up with an open heart.

God has been painted to us like someone who is always looking for ways to destroy us anytime we sin but that is not the case.

He didn’t create man to punish or destroy him. God created man as an expression of Himself and God is love. So how can God who is love be known to create fear and destroy His own children? Even some wicked parents still wish their children well so how much more God.

“Yes but God hates sin” you might say “He can never allow sin in His presence” you might add. You could even go further and quote (that’s if you know where it is) Isaiah 59:1-2 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that He should not save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. BUT THIS IS NOT THE END OF THE STORY.

God can’t be happy with the statement in Isaiah 59:1-2 in fact that is not His will. It doesn’t bring Him joy not to be able to bless the man He created or to answer his prayers so God provided a great solution for the problem.

John 3:16 tells us “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life”

Did you notice? God who is love so loved the world (which is filled with sin and sinners) and sent His son to die for us so that He would close the gap that Isaiah 59 says sin had created. Why do you think that after he sent His son to die for us He still won’t forgive our sins? That might be because we haven’t understood what Jesus really did.

In Genesis 2:7 God told Adam “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shalt not eat: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Ezekiel 18:4 says “Behold all souls are mine…the soul that sinneth, it shall die,” Romans 3:23 says “for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”

If you add these scriptures to Isaiah 59:1-2, man was in big trouble. But do you know what God did? Instead of punishing man for his sins, He sent His son into the world and punished His son for man so that man can be free. Let’s say it in another way, God by His love and wisdom transferred all the sins of humanity upon His son (so Jesus automatically became the guilty person) and by that the world became FREE from the punishment of sin meaning if anyone would be punished for sin it won’t be the world but Jesus.

“What, I don’t believe it” That is why it is called the GOSPEL; Good news that can sound too good to be true.

God who is love knew that man cannot bear the consequence of sin so He transferred it to His son who died (punished for sin) for us.

Consider the following Scriptures:

Isaiah 53:6 “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all”

Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”

Jesus took all your sins (and mine) and was punished for our sins. Ezekiel 18:4 says “The soul that sinneth shall die” likewise Romans 6:23 “the wages of sin is death” so Jesus had to die. He didn’t die for himself, He died for YOU AND ME.

And because He died and was punished for us we are free! All our sins have been forgiven. All meaning the ones you’ve committed or might commit (considering the fact that we were born almost 2000 years after he died and His blood that was shed is still so powerful, glory to God).

All your sins have been paid for by Jesus. You are Free!

Please digest these scriptures 1John 2:2 (NLT)

“He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.”

Hebrews 10:16-17 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts and in their minds will I write them; 17 and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.”

God doesn’t remember your sins. That means you won’t get to heaven and see God play a video of your sins except God is lying and God is not a liar.

See 2Corinthians 5:19 “To wit, That God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Good news, God is not counting your sins against you. The different version of this verse testifies to this.

NIV says “… not counting people’s sins against them”

GNT says “… God did not keep an account of their sins”

GW says “… He didn’t hold people’s faults against them”

NLT says “… no longer counting people’s sins against them”

Amplified says “… not counting up and holding against (men) their trespasses (but cancelling them).

Wow, this is so true. This is good news. “What then must I do? Should I just continue my life however it is? No! Believe this and confess HIM as Lord and the forgiveness of your sin will take effect right away. You will be a brand new person, enjoying a brand new slate. Are you ready to start a brand new life in Christ?

Simply say. “Jesus I believe you came into this world, and died and God raised you up from the dead. Jesus I call you the Lord of my life”.

As simple as that prayer is you are now born again. Congrats!

And if you are already born again (not just a church goer) and are condemned by sins you committed, believe that Jesus was punished for your sins and thank Him for saving you and from today walk in your authority over sin “for he that is born of God does not sin 1John 3:9
